HOW would you like to have a real, Michael Schumacher Ferrari sitting in your garage at home?
If you’re not a Schumi fan, then what about owning the actual car to win Ferrari’s most recent Formula 1 world championship?
A host of Ferrari Formula 1 cars are for sale around the world at the moment, and among them is a car raced by the seven-time world champion in his final year at the Scuderia in 2006.
Schumacher piloted Ferrari 248 F1 chassis No. 253 in the opening three races of the season, qualifying on pole in Bahrain before finishing second in the race.

That was the high watermark for the car. Schumacher raced it to sixth in Malaysia, before crashing out of the same spot midway through the Australian Grand Prix.
And it can be yours for a cool $3.3 million.

Alternatively, for around the same price you could pick up the car that Kimi Raikkonen used to win the 2007 F1 world championship, the most recent for the illustrious team.
The phlegmatic Finn drove chassis No. 262 in 12 races that year, taking Ferrari’s 200th F1 victory in the Chinese Grand Prix before clinching the Drivers’ and Constructors’ world titles with a win in Brazil two weeks’ later.
According to duPont Registry, both cars will come with full maintenance from the factory, along a seat fitting at their Maranello HQ and a shake down session on Ferrari’s private test track at Fiorano. Not included are Schumacher or Raikkonen levels of driving ability.

Once was a time that Ferrari F1 cars were impossible to buy. Once they had outlived their competitive life on track, Enzo Ferrari would order them to be destroyed.
Very few examples of the older machines still exist, but more modern cars are easier — if not cheap — to come by.
If you’re more of a fan of classic Ferraris, the market has something for you too,
Bonhams are set to auction off a trio of 1960-70 Ferraris, one of which was a race winner at the hands of no less than the late, great Gilles Villeneuve, and another which took out the 1969 Australian Grand Prix.

The ex-Villeneuve car is from the late 1970s, just before the ‘ground effect’ era took hold of the sport.

Ferrari 312T3 chassis No. 033 was piloted by Carlos Reutemann during the 1978 season, winning the British Grand Prix, before Villeneuve drove it to victory in the traditional non-championship race at Brands Hatch, the ‘Race of Champions’ in 1979.
Possessing one of Ferrari’s glorious-sounding three litre V12 engines, it is listed without reserve but with an expected price of $1.6-2.1 million.
For between $1.3-1.9 million, you could buy theFerrari Dino 166/246T used by Chris Amon in the 1969 Tasman Series, the New Zealander taking the car to victory in that year’s Australian Grand Prix at Sandown on his way to taking that year’s title.
